FACILITY MANAGEMENT & SAFETY (FMS) KSA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

•    Responsible to develop, and maintain a Safety Culture in the Hospital
•    To provide comprehensive advisory service on all matters related to Facility & Safety Management
•    Implement Mouwasat Medical Services Policies related to Facility Management and Safety.
•    To provide oversight and direction to Facility management & safety

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    To advise and assist in the planning and implementation of FMS Program and establishing a suitable organisation to put them into effect in coordination with Performance Improvement Department.
•    To be responsible for the day to day management of the FMS Department.
•    Ensure Civil Defense License is Valid
•    Maintenance Management
?    Ensure all Utility Systems, Medical Equipment and Life Safety systems are in good maintenance
?    Maintain adequate spares
?    Maintain adequate back up of all Utility Systems as per standards.
?    Ensure Utility System Drawings are up to date.
?    Ensure maintenance contracts are valid and in compliance with standards.
•    Education & Training: 
?    Ensure FMS Department staff are trained and oriented in their job responsibilities including Emergency Response
?    Conduct Drills as mandated by JCI and CBAHI standards and National Regulations.
?    Ensure Hospital Staff are oriented in Utility System Failure Response and Medical Equipment Failure Response
?    Ensure Hospital staff are trained in Emergency Response as applicable in their department
•    Performance Improvement and Risk Management:
?    Conduct Risk Assessment annually, for all components of FMS Program and ensure adequate risk reduction strategies are adopted. 
?    Maintain statistical data for effectiveness of FMS Program
?    Maintain statistical data for testing, preventive maintenance and breakdown, of Utility Systems, Biomedical and Safety Equipment
?    Use data to ensure performance improvement of all components of FMS Program
?    Monitor and track performance of Department through Environment of Care committee
?    Prepare Annual Evaluation report for FMS Program in coordination with PI department.
?    Implement any corrective actions recommended by visiting Safety Consultants, Civil Defense, MOH etc.
•    Construction & Renovation Projects
?    To ensure Construction and Renovation projects follow NFPA Life Safety Code, Civil Defence Dept. Regulations, JCI/CBAHI Standards and other Governmental Regulations.
?    Monitor the progress of these projects on a regular basis and prepare report for the Projects department or Engineering Department on any incompliance in coordination with Safety Officer.
?    Ensure implementation of Interim Life Safety Measures during any Construction and Renovation Projects and any Life Safety System Interruption

QUALIFICATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Minimum 7 years’ experience in Hospital Engineering Department with at least 3 years in a Supervising Role, in at least a 200-bed capacity hospital.

OR

Minimum 12 years’ experience in Hospitality Sector with at least 2 years’ experience in Hospital.
