JOB PURPOSE

To work on diverse catalyst development projects for Polyethylene Global Technology. The focus will be on the development of PE Gas Phase catalyst systems covering HD, LL and mLLDPE. Global PE Tech is supporting the business growth by providing technical support to the existing plants and developing new technologies with better operability/ economics and enhanced product performance. We are looking for an energetic, technically creative chemist to lead/drive the catalyst research in the lab and then support the catalyst scale up to pilot and commercial scales.

 MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum education qualifications:
• PhD in Polymer Catalysis
• Years of experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in polyethylene Catalyst technology Research & Operation.
• Require experience / fundamental knowledge in Cr, Ziegler-Natta, and/or single site catalyst and kinetics for the production of High density/ linear low density polyethylene.
• Hands on experience in PE Catalyst designed for gas or slurry phase commercial process operation & development.
• Preference to have experience/knowledge in Polyolefin Catalyst Synthesis and polymerization process. 

 JOB KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Initiate and conduct research programs directed towards the development of   catalyst, process and product improvements for gas or slurry phase High density/linear low density polyethylene processes.
• Provide Technology Support to commercial Catalyst Manufacturing Units of the Gas or Slurry Phase polyethylene Plants.
• Provide trouble-shooting support and drive problem resolution for polyethylene Catalyst manufacturing plants (HDPE & LLDPE).
• Collect and interpret plant process data based on catalyst performance and make recommendations for Catalyst improvements.     
• Design and lead Catalyst Synthesis Projects for PE to be evaluated in pilot plant campaigns followed by preliminary reviews, data interpretation, and final reporting.
• Participate in new product and process technology implementations in high density/ linear low density polyethylene manufacturing plants.
• Lead Commercial campaigns at the Plants for the newly developed or modified PE catalyst systems.
• Formally document and communicate research findings and improvements. (Reports and presentations)
• Execute research programs involving both individual and team contributions towards creating value to the business.
